Spanky's Place

I spent the last two weeks on-site at a customer's office. Unfortunately, I also spent the last two weeks in poorer health than I've been in a long time.

It started out with chest / sinus congestion, and rapidly moved to exhaustion, sore throat, and nausea. (Important note: throwing up while visiting a customer's facility is poor form). By the time my flight home rolled around, I was coughing so hard that my sides and back were unbelievably sore.

When I arrived home, the first thing (well, the second thing actually) my wife said was "what's wrong with your eyes?". I checked in the mirror, and they were tinted yellow, and both had visible subconjunctival hemorrhages. Not a pretty sight.

I slept most of Saturday, and was feeling a bit better (or so I thought) Saturday evening. We went out for dinner & drinks with two of my wife's sisters; but by evening's end I was wiped out and had to go home early. I ended up missing church on Sunday.

The jaundice is finally gone, and the cough is subsiding. I still tire quickly, but not nearly as much as last week. I have a couple of red spots left on my eyes, but they too are receding. All in all, the last 16 days have been really rough.

Hopefully I'll be back to 100% by Thanksgiving.
